May Meeting – Bridget Hunter: Adoption
Bridget spoke to us about an interesting, and emotive, subject – adoption.
At the conclusion of Bridget’s presentation, members took the opportunity to offer their own, personal, experiences of adoption within their families. This was a most heartfelt and frank discussion from both sides of adoption, as well as families with adopted members. One of our members had brought in adoption records for other members to see examples.
This was a very interesting and thoughtful topic for our meeting, widening the discussion from pure research and records, to social history and attitudes.
